Port Angeles Restaurant Reviews

Had Halibut special and was delightful. Perfectly done. The wine list was good and service snappy. We will come again!

Stopped here for lunch after a long drive from Seattle. Very nice views of a garden even though this place sits on a busy highway.

I ordered the warm seafood salad and was not disappointed. Perfectly cooked scallops, prawns, and salmon on a bed of fresh greens with just the right amount of dressing. This would be very easy to get wrong, but everything about this dish was just right. My companion had the seafood sandwich as was also impressed.

Now, on to dessert. Wasn't hungry but when we heard "peanut butter pie" we changed our minds. Perfect balance of peanut flavor to chocolate, buttery crust, crunchy peanuts on top, creamy, not too sweet. In short, where peanuts go to die.

This was my first visit, but will definitely return to try breakfast.

The halibut special was excellent as was the seafood pot pie. The salad dressings were house made and out of this world. The pesto for bread was the best. Betty, the server, was not only an excellent server, she spent time helping us decide on a plan for the next couple of days including giving us map. Don't skip dessert.  We never eat it, but this was too good to pass up. Totally perfect meal and great travel plans too.

Amazing dinner by chef Brian! Can't wait to see what he does with the menu. Will be going back for dinner for sure. Ambiance is a little lacking but the food makes up for it.

New executive chef and the menu was outstanding!  Joe had the braised pork shank which was incredible. Our friend had the chicken Oscar and seafood chowder, which she loved. Elaine said the chicken Marsala was cooked perfectly, moist and tasty. This is definitely a must stop when we are in PA again.

Nice cozy place with lots of booth seating, with views of the beautiful garden outside.

Service was prompt and very friendly; a lot of locals eat here and the servers inquire after their health and families--that's something you miss in big cities.

The blackberry muffins were fresh, hot and delicious! The oatmeal has a good chewy texture, and it's really hot, which is not always the case with oatmeal.

Definitely a great place for breakfast!

It takes a lot for me to give praise but this place is fantastic. The eggs Benedict on crescent was awesome!!!  Huge ham slices poached eggs.  Also had a pancake on the side.

My coffee never even got half way down before the awesome staff filled it right back up.  Five stars all the way.

A very pleasant atmosphere and great food. Small and intimate fine dining and great staff will provide a great dining experience.

Had a wonderful dinner with great service and presentation. Every Christmas we receive s gift certificate and we always put off using it for some reason because the food is very good and the service is great.

If you want a really nice dinner don't hesitate to go here, the food is a little fancy but very good, not sure how they make a salad taste so good!

Did not expect such good food. For starters creamy cabbage with polish sausage .... entree got the Rib eye with the crab and Yukon potatos...OMG...pricey but so worth it .. DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP!

Fabulous food served by friendly experienced staff. Beautiful setting amid native trees and lovely garden

Great service and food

We really enjoyed our breakfast and they accommodated my gluten free requirements.

Loved our server.  Great first impression!

Stopped here for lunch after a long drive from Seattle. Too early to check in to hotel and all were starving.
Great decision!
Food is fresh, atmosphere is charming (views of garden are lovely even if the interior could use an update), and service was attentive.

I ordered the warm seafood salad - perfectly cooked scallops, prawns, and salmon on a bed of fresh spring greens. The dressing was light and the seafood was not overcooked. My companions had clam chowder, kobe beef burger, and seafood melt. All portions were generous and prepared as requested.

It's easy to get mixed seafood wrong - scallops, prawns, and salmon need different cooking times. This chef got it right.

Now, a word about dessert (ok, a few words): two of us shared a slice of peanut butter pie. "OMG" is not a term I use often, but it applies here. Just the right balance of peanut butter to chocolate with a crust that was flaky and not too sweet, and a sprinkle of salty peanuts on top. Presentation was beautiful.

This will turn in to a regular spot from now on. Can't wait to try breakfast next time. The picture of the crab benny looks amazing!
Crab Benedict is to die for!”

From the outside, this restaurant doesn't look particularly impressive but I have been very happy with one particular dish that I continue to enjoy each time I come for breakfast.

I can't speak for the rest of the menu because I tried the crab Benedict on my first visit and that dish alone has kept me coming back for more each time visiting guests want to go out for breakfast. It's made with LOTS of local Dungeness crab that literally melts in your mouth.

This is my favorite breakfast in Port Angeles. Booths with views of the garden are very pretty as well. Prices are reasonable.

Great date & amazingly delicious food.

So I ask, what more could a girl ask for? My man took me to Café Garden on the recommendation of a local. We were NOT disappointed.

My date had a local beer (Pike's Kilt Lifter) and we split the Grilled Caesar Salad. It was huge and the best Caesar I have ever devoured. Yes, the Romaine was delicately grilled and topped with housemade dressing, Pancetta and croutons. Simple as it was it was marvelous.

Then on to our meals - I choose the Seafood Tetrazzini and was ever so happy. It was large portion of al dente linguini, with salmon, prawns and scallops in a vegetable and lobster sherry cream sauce. It was topped off with parmesean cheese. I was brought to me in a HUGE dish and I immediately thought this was meant for 2 people.

I savored every bite of it and brought half home for another full meal. My date had the Spicy Seafood Fettucine. (scallops, prawns, mussels, and salmon with veggies and a spicy marinara sauce) I couldn't help but ask if I could sample it. Yes, it too was marvelous.

I would have to say that considering I am getting two meals out of this dinner I don't consider it to be overpriced. Too many penny pinchers on this Peninsula! Let me not forget the gracious service.

I will be back for more!
